The CalTestBed program is funded through the California Energy Commission with $8.8M in EPIC funding for the provision of testing vouchers to a competitively selected group of the most innovative mid-later stage clean energy companies with the goal of accelerating their progress towards commercialization. This year, 26 companies have been recommended as voucher recipients to conduct third party testing at one of more than 30 world-class testbeds at nine University of California Campuses and Berkeley Lab facilities to provide proof of concept and de-risk their innovations. This program is an innovative model for state and regional clean energy commercialization efforts across the country.
The CalTestBed companies represent a wide variety of technology areas including Building Technologies, Energy Efficiency, Energy Storage, Grid Technologies, Industrial and Agricultural Innovation, Internet of Things, Material-Based, Renewable Generation, Transportation and Water Technologies. These companies are de-risking their innovations through 3rd party testing and are poised for commercialization!
